She Survived the Rwandan Genocide and FORGAVE Her Family’s Murderers | Immaculée Ilibagiza

Do you ever feel like you met a saint in real life? That’s what it’s like to talk with Immaculée Ilibagiza.

Immaculée was in college when the Rwandan Genocide broke out in 1994. Her parents and brother were killed by people they knew who had turned to the side of the government. She hid in a neighbor’s small bathroom with seven other women, barely saying a word for three months just to stay alive. I mean, can you IMAGINE what that was like?

We talk about her memories of the apparitions of Our Lady of Kibeho in 1982, her time hiding in that bathroom during the Rwandan genocide, her internal struggles with anger against her persecutors, and how she eventually came to FORGIVE her parents’ murderer. Stay tuned to the end, where Immaculée shares some words of encouragement when you feel like you can’t forgive those who have hurt you.

This is a heavy topic, but Immaculée’s love for Jesus and Our Lady are overflowing!
