Monique Mead & Tino Cardenes - Shadyside Porch Concerts

Episode 571 Published 1 year, 10 months ago
Description
What began as Monique Mead’s pandemic project to motivate her teens to practice has now turned into an annual porch concert series that brings the family and the neighborhood together. This Saturday, 7pm, it's "Young Talent Night." The porch concerts began with student recitals, and it continues to follow these young musicians as they mature as artists. Tino Cardenes curated this multi-genre program with his fellow local young artists. The concert features Tino Cardenes, piano; Hannah Chang, Violin; Uma Simhan, Voice; Alice Tang, violin; Leah Huber, soprano; and Visual Artist, Jocelyn Hayes. WQED-FM's Anna Singer spoke with Monique Mead and Tino Cardenes about the concert, which takes place at 409 Devonshire St, Pittsburgh.
