Chicago is in the middle of a heated debate about the future of the city’s 11 test-in selective enrollment high schools.
The mayor and the Board of Education say they wanted to prioritize neighborhood schools and move away from the existing system of school choice.
This summer, the board is expected to propose changes to the admissions process for these selective schools.
