Last week’s sewage spill in Vancouver’s False Creek was more deleterious than many had thought or hoped. Vancouver Coastal Health’s testing has revealed E.coli levels 55 times greater than the number that would trigger an investigation. Sewage began leaking into False Creek early Thursday morning after a pipe broke near Olympic Village. Dragon boat competitions went ahead over the weekend after event organizers were reassured the water was safe.
