Being a fan of a niche genre like extreme heavy metal can be a lonely experience. While everyone else is listening to pop and country, finding like minded people to share your passion with can be difficult. Couple that with being interested philosophies that are deeper than the surface level concerns of the general public, and you've got a recipe for isolation.
