- Terraform Labs will pay the SEC $4.47 billion in a settlement for the Terra ecosystem collapse, which caused $40 billion in investor losses. The settlement includes fines and penalties, with former CEO Do Kwon personally liable for $204 million. He must transfer $4.7 million into escrow and liquidate crypto assets to cover these costs. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission lawsuit accused Terraform and Kwon of selling unregistered securities and fraud. The collapse of TerraUSD in 2022 led to significant losses.
