This interview with author Randy’L Teton (Shoshone-Bannock Tribal Member) explores the importance of perserving history through the lens of the people who lived it.

Randy’L was born and raised on the Fort Hall Reservation in Lincoln Creek District in southeastern Idaho and recently released her first book, It's Her Story: Sacajawea.

According to the United States Mint, Randy’L is the ‘Youngest & Only Living model’ on U.S currency. She served as the Shoshone model for the Sacajewea coin in 1998 for Santa Fe artist Glenna Goodacre and in 2000 the coin was released to the public. Randy' L spent two years after the release marketing the new dollar coin with the U.S. Mint.

Teton has traveled nationwide representing Sacajawea and her story as the only living model on a coin.

You can find out more about Randy'L at her website or follow her on instagram.
