Here is a conversation I had with Mr. Al Sipple for another project I was working on a couple of years ago. At 17 years old, he found himself part of the first wave at Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944, as a Higgins Boat operator. I decided to share it again here in honor of the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
