Description
Supernatural Season 6, Episode 16, ...And Then There Were None recap 🪱 Eve, the Mother of All, unleashes a body-hopping, brain-controlling worm, and Sam, Dean, Bobby, Rufus, and what's left of the Campbells end up trapped together in a cannery where ANYONE could be infected, on Denim-wrapped Nightmares, a Supernatural rewatch podcast. It's a full-on John Carpenter's The Thing-style whodunit. (The title is an Agatha Christie nod. Not everyone walks out.)
The episode opens with Eve (Julia Maxwell) hitching a ride with a truck driver and whispering a special secret right into his ear. Later, the driver, who we're calling Wish List Bryan Cranston, goes home with a hammer, giving us our 43rd blood splooge. Bobby and Rufus team up, the boys run into Gwen and Grandpa Samuel at the cannery, and Dean is ready to shoot first and ask questions later. Then someone gets possessed, guns get locked in a locker, and the paranoia sets in.
Episode Highlights:
- Bobby (Jim Beaver) and Rufus (Steven Williams), together again, in matching trench coats
- Dean vs. Grandpa Samuel (Mitch Pileggi). Sam: just don't kill him yet.
- The world's most productive worm, setting booby traps between body hops
- The mysterious Omaha incident, and the falling-out between Bobby and Rufus
- A cranial saw, and Mitch Pileggi's eyes popping open (Young Frankenstein, anyone?)
- Sam and Dean kicking in a door in perfect sync (we rewound it)
- Electricity tickles: everyone getting shocked to prove they're clean (Rufus has a pacemaker!)
- Jim Beaver's creepy possessed performance, delivering Eve's message
In the lore segment, we explain why the boys call it a Khan worm: the infamous Ceti eel scene from 1982's Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, where Khan (Ricardo Montalbán) puts brain-controlling eels into the ears of Chekov and Captain Terrell, plus its Centaurian slug callback in the 2009 Star Trek reboot. (1982 was also the year of John Carpenter's The Thing, fitting!)
"I'm not in the mood. I just had a 12-inch herpe crawl out of my ear." – Dean Winchester
