Psalm 22 begins with the words, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

King David experienced a dark night of the soul, during which he shared in the sufferings of the future Son of God, who would be crucified on the cross for our redemption. Jesus quoted this Psalm while hanging on the cross, revealing the connection between David's journey and Christ's ultimate sacrifice.

Regardless of our past failures or shortcomings, we're called to journey with Him, embracing triumphs and the moments of darkness. We must know that God can transform our mistakes into opportunities for growth and redemption. David's journey is one of the triumphs of writing, Psalms of worship, and eventually becoming a king. Despite his mistakes, David is remembered as a man after God's heart. Trust today in God's mercy and grace.
