🟢 Bloomberg ETF analysts Eric Balchunas and James Seyffart, CFA, CAIA have noted “chatter” that the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is urging applicants to expedite their 19b-4 filings. Consequently, the analysts have increased their approval odds from 25% to 75%. He mentioned it via Twitter . Now (X) UPDATE: Grayscale Investments just filed an updated 19b-4 for their Ethereum Mini Trust. We should see a bunch of these come in today. The initial 19b-4 for Grayscales mini Ethereum trust. It may not be included in the first wave of potential approvals.
🟢 Standard Chartered head of FX and digital assets research, Geoff Kendrick, said they are “80% to 90%” certain that the SEC will approve spot Ether ETFs later this week.
🟢 Fidelity Investments has also reportedly amended its Ether ETF S-1 filing to remove ETH staking. This amendment comes after the SEC reversed its stance and requested Ether ETF issuers to update their 19b-4 filings.
âť—Important to note: The next SEC deadline is May 23 for VanEck’s Ether ETF proposal. While senior Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas has increased the odds of approval to 75% from 25%, this only applies to the 19b-4 form.Â
