What is your Personal Quest? Astrology of Sagittarius Full Moon
Description
On the 23rd May, we look forward to the full moon in Sagittarius, this is often a popular Full Moon as it falls within the rulership of Jupiter, known in Traditional Astrology as the Greater Benefic for the gifts and abundance the planet can offer when it is well situated.
In astrology, full moons symbolise culmination, completion, and illumination. The Moon is fully illuminated by the Sun and casts its brightest light upon us viewing the Moon from Earth. Thus, earthly matters are symbolically illuminated as our concerns track the Moons phases. As the moon reaches its fullest expression, at the peak of its cycle, the reflected light can also illuminate hidden truths and guide us towards greater understanding when we lead a reflective life.
The Full Moon is in Sagittarius, this is known as a mutable or double-bodied, Fire, Masculine or Yang sign. This signifies adaptability, exploration, and philosophical pursuits. It offers us an opportunity to seek a quest for truth, to expand our horizons, and to openly embrace the adventure of life. Fire symbolises the need for action, brings energy and optimism.
The Ruler of Sagittarius can currently be found transiting in the bountiful company of dignified Venus in Taurus, infusing our hearts with warmth, beauty, and sensual pleasures. This astrological alignment invites us to indulge in the richness of life, to revel in earthly delights, and to nurture our deepest desires. On the day of the Full Moon both Benefics, Jupiter and Venus will be conjunct (blending their energies and significations) in the last degree of Taurus before Venus prepares to depart.
The ruler of the Full Moon in Sagittarius still carries the energy of separating from the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction, a potent blend of visionary expansion and revolutionary change. While the conjunction is separating, the Full Moon in Jupiters sign of Sagittarius acts as a trigger to its energy which is now being released (known as Flowing Forth) its lingering influence sparks innovation, breakthroughs, and sudden insights, propelling us towards bold new horizons.
Mercury, ruling the sun, situated opposite the Moon. The Sun has recently moved into Gemini, this adds a dynamic element , stimulating our intellect, fostering communication, and inspiring curiosity. It won’t be long before Jupiter moves into Gemini on the 26 May, bringing a shift we are all likely to feel when Jupiter loses dignity and needs to work harder.

These are the planets and rulers for this Lunation, I will now look closer at the aspects that this Full Moon is forming. These tell us more about the relationships the Moon has with the other planets in the sky.
The moon forms a degree-based sextile with retrograding Pluto in Aquarius. This may amplify our capacity for transformation, regeneration, and collective evolution. It empowers us to delve into the depths of our psyche, our shadows and power relationships, to embrace change, and to harness our inner power for positive growth.
The moon forms whole sign squares with Saturn and Neptune in Pisces. These present us with motivating challenges, an impetus for change. They urge us to identify illusions, dissolve boundaries, and transcend limitations. It might ask us for spiritual discernment, patience, wisdom or faith as we navigate the misty waters.
There is also the much more comfortable and supportive whole sign trines with Mars, Chiron, and the North Node in Aries, igniting our passions, offering potential to address inner wounds, and questioning what we hunger for. Trines are of the nature of Jupiter, and this harmonious alignment may offer courage, resilience, and forward momentum.
