Playwright and Founder of the Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre Company, Mark Clayton Southers, spoke with WQED-FM about his upcoming world premiere play of The Coffin Maker, running at the Pittsburgh Public Theater from May 29th to June 16th. Mark describes the story of an enslaved wife and freed husband working for an undertaker in Oklahoma, when a bounty hunter comes in and changes everything. He also describes why he wrote this play and how it came to life on stage at the Public.
