Finding A Good Man After Abandonment, Neglect, Betrayal, & Abuse

Season 2 Episode 39 Published 1 year, 10 months ago
Description

There are very popular religious, spiritual, and sociological concepts that speak about the role that men should play in your life. A lot of them talk about men being the "head of the household" and being "leaders". But when you've experienced harm at the hands of men… the idea of being "lead" by a man feels incredibly triggering. As a consequence of your life experience, you've learn to perceive men as untrustworthy, dangerous, and unsafe. And that means, you struggle with the idea of depending on men, trusting them to show up for you, and expecting positive outcomes in your relationships with them. I've struggled with this, too.

As I understand Divine Masculine & Divine Feminine energy more and more, I understand that most teachers aren't explaining healthy masculine leadership and containment in a way that makes wounded, healing women (like myself) feel safe and open to that support.  So, that's what we're discussing in today's episode. You want to understand how to attract a good man after abuse. And to do that, you need to understand these fundamental principles about Divine Masculine energy.

I spend the first 30 minutes of the episode setting the scene for today's conversation. Then, we talk about the consequences of abuse: so that you understand what's going on within you, as a woman, who has learned that she can't trust men. I'm making it really clear how, living a life where you don't need a man is possible… but it's not the best feeling life experience available to you. Afterwards, we get into my favorite part of the episode where we discusss what it actually means to be lead by a man in a healthy, balanced way.

By the end of this episode, you will not cringe at the idea of a man being the "leader" in your relationship or the "head of your household". By the end of this episode, I believe that you will feel more relief around this idea of being "lead" by a man.

And of course, in today's episode, we are talking about overcoming abuse, so here's a bit of a trigger warning for that; but in my opinion, we don't go into detail about anything particularly offensive or extreme.
