WGB #88: Rebrand- Knicks Out, D*cks Out
Description
No, we're not really rebranding to a Knicks podcast (yet), but it is goddamn exhausting being positive about the Mets at the moment and Luis Rojas and the bats aren't making it any easier! The lineup has "anxiety" and it's sending us over the deep end. Seriously though, what kind of manager offers that up as an excuse for the entire lineup not hitting with runners in scoring position? As far as we're concerned Rojas has been on borrowed time his whole career so the only question is when do the Mets clean house? The guys debate how much more leash Rojas and Chili Davis have and whether or not a coaching change would even make a difference. We talk all things Jacob deGrom from his last two outings and wonder why he hasn't ripped the entire clubhouse a new a** h*** yet. KFC and Clem discuss if the clubhouse is too nice to win, we deep dive the wild Zack Wheeler story from 2015 and wonder aloud what it's going to be like when the other shoe drops for this pitching staff. We also get into the Gen Z drama with the 135 Mafia and nym news and preview the 4-part 30 for 30 on the 1986 Mets. There's been a lot of mediocre baseball played in April, but somehow, someway we are a half game back of first and we gotta believe we'll be sitting pretty in May to take the NL East by storm.
