A few months ago, Yelizaveta Nex reached out to the Sarasota SpeaX team, in hopes of sharing her story during her time at the Academy at Ivy Ridge, a disciplinary institution recently featured on the Netflix Documentary, The Program: Cons, Cults and Kidnapping.  While Yelizaveta was not a featured individual on the documentary itself, her story mirrors many of those who faced the abuse, manipulation, and psychological trauma issued by Ivy Ridge.

Today, Yelizaveta shares her experience as a former “student” of the institution.  We dive into some pretty deep, and at times, disturbing content.  While we highly encourage you to view the documentary yourselves, it is important to know that there are many individuals who did not have the opportunity to share their own personal stories, and we hope that providing Yelizaveta a platform, it helps shed some light on what she, and others experienced.  Our traditional featured content, such as our discussion on roundabouts, The Pre-Show, and Rapid Fire, will not be airing this week, so that we could give full attention to the gravity of her story.
