As Amythist McCart's high school graduation neared, the East Valley senior diligently ticked off her responsibilities - paperwork completed, cap and gown purchased, schedule shared with family and friends.
During this time, Amythist couldn't help but think of her friend, Esmeralda "Kit" Mora. The two had first met on the very first day of kindergarten at Terrace Heights Elementary School. Despite Amythist moving away for a period of time, upon her return in second grade, she and Kit picked up right where they had left off.
