A Tribute to My Mom: Things I Wish My Mom Had Known Fifty Years Ago

Season 1 Episode 21 Published 1 year, 11 months ago
Description

This episode includes a lot of stories about Heidi's mom and her mom's positive impact on the world. Enjoy!

There are topics presented that are woven throughout and are noted below. Dr. Patrick Flynn will be with us NEXT week.

Things I wish my mom had known 50 years ago:

  1. Her value is immeasurable.
  2. The impact you’re having on the people around you is huge… it IS enough.
  3. It’s okay to not use all of your time and effort to try and make others happy.
  4. What you have to give is enough.
  5. Sometimes you’re doing a little too much.
  6. Keep valuing your listening skills and value listening to people.
  7. You can do less and it doesn’t mean that you are less.
  8. Your mom and dad are proud of you.
  9. Calling yourself “stupid” isn’t helpful and it is hurting you.
  10. You might have PMDD (which is or causes hormone imbalance) so when you’re having a hard time, try not to be so hard on yourself.

What I’d tell her:

  1. Keep trusting yourself.
  2. Push for those things she really thinks are better her way.
  3. Thank you for the hours and hours that you listened to me.
  4. You following the Spirit will make a positive difference in your children’s lives and in many other people’s lives.
  5. You don’t have to do as much as you do, but you can.
  6. You are blessing people’s lives in whatever good you choose to do.
