Season 3 Episode 31
Trust that it will be ok and keep going.
“Life becomes far easier once you know that things will still work out even if you are lacking something.” - Marie Kondo
I draw a great deal of inspiration and insight from the American Civil Rights movement of the 1960’s. I often think of how difficult things were for them, constantly criticized by friends and foes, doubted and demonized - all while facing the real prospects of imprisonment or death by assassin’s bullet.
What sustained them through their most difficult days was a stubborn refusal to accept the unacceptable coupled with an unshakable faith that righteousness and justice would prevail one day. Dr. King declared that he might not get there personally, but we as a people would get there one day.
Marie Kondo’s quote may have been referring specifically to cleaning and organizing. But the larger principle prevails. We may not always have everything we want or need, but it’s still going to be ok. Trust that.
