Sonjdra King-Sledge was born and raised in Birmingham, Al to her father, the late Cleophus King, Jr and mother, Evangelist Wanda King. She is the wife to Justin Sledge, who is also her MD and Producer. Sonjdra is a licensed and ordained minister, and is actively involved in her church, Joyful News Family Church, where her leaders are Apostle Bobby E. Hogan, Jr. and Pastor Natassha Hogan. Sonjdra loves God and she loves to serve God’s people.
Sonjdra has been singing all of her life. She comes from a family of singers, musicians, and preachers. Sonjdra released a single entitled “We Lift You Up” on May 25, 2022, in honor of her late father on his birthday. Her song has been played literally all over the world, and she’s also appeared on WGSR with Robert Barnes and Fox6 News. Sonjdra was a 5-time Rhythm of Gospel Award Nominee in 2023.
