Back to EpisodesDecolonization with Lara Kilani
Description
In this episode we talk with Lara Kilani about the keyword “decolonization.” In the midst of Israel's genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, unrelenting settler violence in the West Bank, and escalating state repression of Palestine solidarity movements in many countries, Kilani unpacks why it is critically important to study how Palestinians theorize, debate, and struggle for decolonization. This episode centers on Kilani’s recent essay in Ebb Magazine, authored with colleague Leila Shomali, titled “Anti-Zionism as Decolonization."
Lara Kilani is a Palestinian-American researcher and PhD student based in Palestine. She is also a member of the Good Shepherd Collective, an anti-Zionist organization which works to democratize access to information about Palestine, provide decolonial analysis on Zionist settler-colonialism and liberation, and offer advocacy options to bring us closer to justice.
