Season 3 Episode 23
“We should be choosing what we want to keep, not what we want to get rid of.” - Marie Kondo
In order to move from where we are in life to where we need to be, we must be clear in our intentions. It’s not enough to focus on what we don’t want. We must instead focus our energies on developing a clear picture of the things we do want.
When Jesus encountered a group of blind men, he asked them, “What do you want me to do for you?” (Matthew 20:32). Jesus did not assume. He asked. And in asking, he focused them on developing a positive purpose and aim for themselves. In fact, when they gained their sight, they went in to follow him.
It’s easy to become overwhelmed and distracted by the negative, by the things that are cluttering our minds and lives. Focusing on the things we don’t want doesn’t help us develop a positive vision of the lives we want for ourselves in the future as much as focusing on the things we do want.
What is it that we want?
