📊 Bitcoin is experiencing a “DeFi summer” moment as the new Runes token standard leads to record daily miner rewards and transaction fees. Bitcoin’s fourth halving reduced miners’ block subsidy rewards, but transaction fees have surged, exceeding subsidy rewards for over 100 blocks. The hype surrounding Runes, a new token standard for Bitcoin, has driven speculative activity and increased competition, resulting in higher transaction fees. ❗ It’s important to note that After an initial surge in transaction fees, which peaked at $128.45 on the day of halving, average fees have significantly declined to $34.80 as of April 21, according to YCharts data. Total daily miner revenue has also dropped to approximately $51 million. Currently, average fees have decreased further to around $10, as reported by Mempool data. here https://mempool.space/
