Episode 13: Midweek Special: The Fantasy Fellowship Draft

Description
We're super excited to share this episode with you, our second Midweek Special where we stray from our regular book series content and dive into fantasy fiction in some completely different way. Zach came up with the idea of adapting a fantasy draft (as in fantasy football) to assembling the best possible fellowship of adventurers. We collaborated with three other fantasy literature podcasters, guests from Fantology, A Hero's Journey, and Inking Out Loud podcasts, to participate in this Fantasy Fellowship Draft. We took turns, one round at a time, drafting five unique characters from across the spectrum of fantasy literature. It was a blast, so much fun - and we think you'll enjoy listening. Will you agree with the fellowship that wins the draft, the one voted best of all? LAFO (Listen And Find Out!) Obviously, this unique episode is FULL of spoilers from many different fantasy series. You'll enjoy it best if you are familiar with, perhaps even read, many of the series we drafted from, but likely as not you haven't read them all. You may hear just enough by listening to add some new books/authors to your TBR (To Be Read) list. In general we focus on specific characters and their traits, why we are drafting each selection, and we don't completely spoil the books they come from - but we definitely spoil some more than others! Just be prepared. In case you REALLY don't want any spoilers, we note the name, series, and author when we make the pick, before then discussing. If you don't want to know too much, just try to skip ahead a bit... Here is a list of the fantasy sources from which we drafted, listed alphabetically by author's last name. Not WHO we drafted, just what literature, to give you an idea of what all gets talked about. Some great stories!
