The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced on Tuesday the closure of the embassy and consulates of the Caribbean nation in Ecuador, in support of Mexico, after the police assault to the diplomatic headquarters of this country, during the virtual meeting of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac).

Venezuela's Attorney General, Tarek William Saab, presented on Tuesday more evidence on the assassination attempt against President Nicolás Maduro by members of the opposition party Vente Venezuela.

In a virtual meeting of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), member countries expressed their support to Mexico after the assault on its embassy in Quito, Ecuador.

The President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, arrived on Tuesday night in Bogotá, Colombia, where he will make a working visit to review the state of bilateral relations with local authorities.
