עפ"י המבואר בנבואת יחזקאל שיציאת מצרים נמשלה ללידת עם ישראל – מובן שאז מודגש כללות ענין החינוך [יש את ענין החינוך גם לפני הזמן המסויים עבור חינוך לקיום המצוות בפועל – להעמיד את הבית באופן כזה שמרגע שנולד יהי' הילד באויר של תומ"צ], וכמודגש בליל הסדר – הציווי של "והגדת לבנך", ו"כנגד ארבעה בנים דברה תורה", וגם זה דורש "הכנה" בימים שלפני הפסח, כמו כל עניני ה"סדר". בנוגע לגודל החשיבות דענין החינוך וההכרח להעניק לילדים חינוך יהודי כשר – כבר דובר כמ"פ. לדאבוננו ישנם עשרות אלפים מילדי ישראל שמתחנכים בבתי-ספר עממיים, ועד שיצליחו לפעול על הוריהם להעבירם לבתי ספר שמתחנכים עפ"י התורה – יש להשתדל עכ"פ להנהיג בבתי-ספר עממיים שיתחילו את היום עם "רגע של שתיקה", שבו יתבונן הילד בדבר שנוגע אליו – מחשבה אודות בורא עולם ומנהיגו. שזהו "יסוד" לכללות ענין החינוך של הילדים.

Yechezkel describes the Exodus from Egypt as the birth of the Jewish people as a nation, which indicates the centrality to Pesach of Jewish education (which begins even before the child’s formal education, by establishing an atmosphere in the home of Torah and mitzvos etc.). Therefore, the Seder is designed for the children (“And you shall tell your son…”; “The Torah speaks of four sons…”). Just as the physical aspects of the Seder require preparation before Pesach, so, too, the spiritual aspects. We’ve discussed many times the importance and necessity of providing Jewish children with a proper Jewish education; unfortunately there are tens of thousands of Jewish children who are educated in secular schools; until such time as their parents can be persuaded to transfer them to schools offering a Jewish education – effort should at least be made that public schools should begin the day with a moment of silence, during which the child can reflect on the Creator and Ruler of the world – this is the foundation of education, and it will continue to affect the child “even when he grows old.”
