So, I love my mother-in-law. She’s a woman who loves the Lord and is very kind and generous towards others. When I first met her and started to get to know her while my husband and I were courting she was so fun and amazing to be around. When we got married something changed. She would often come visit us and it was almost like she wanted to take over. She would cook dinner and serve my husband and I felt like I couldn’t really step into my role as a wife when she was around. I did share with my husband a bit, but I don’t think he really understands. We have been married for 4 years now and although she’s gotten better, she still comes to visit and recently she said my husband is the baby and he’s the spoiled one. It wasn’t in front of him, but she said it to me and another one of my friends who was present. It was embarrassing to me. He’s the youngest and I’d also like to note she doesn’t do this with her other sons. She likes to make him certain foods and says they are “his foods” and “his favorites” idk why this just bothers me. I love her but I don’t like her. Please am I crazy? I don’t know what to do anymore. How do I even say anything to her? She’s overall a nice lady but this one thing. I just wish she would back off and wasn’t like this. I only make an effort with her because she’s my husband's mother.
