FTN Episode 298 – Admech Transports Change the Game

Description

fFTN small square

We kick the show off talking a little bit about the Space Marine FAQ and the Drop Pod nerf.  Reggie Sanchez from the Crucible joins Paul and Josh to talk about the success of Admech at the NOVA Open and how their new transport breathes a TON of new life into that faction.

Hey guys,

We don’t spend a ton of time on the Marine FAQ but the changes to the Drop Pods via the errata are interesting.  I feel like the original rule was incredibly intentional but we see that the clear intent for the game as a whole is to have all your toys on the table by turn 3.   I don’t mean to say that we won’t see things that break that rule but the rules writers don’t seem to want that to be ‘too accessible.’  Cheaper Drop Pods meant we were going to see it a lot.  I mention this on the show but as a positive I think we’ll see a ton more diversity in Marine builds and there will be many fewer feel bad games against them.

Adeptus Mechanicus…  We haven’t covered it much and that is a clear misstep on our part.  The success of the Skorpius Dunerider and the Disentigrator at the NOVA speaks for itself.  Tons of shots, tons of wounds and can be a target for Admech Stratagems.  The secret is out on these things and we think it’s going to bring about a host of new Admech builds.  This is a good thing.  The Adeptus Mechanicus is one of the unique factions at Games Workshop that doesn’t share inspiration from another universe.

Please please please check out the new Forge The Narrative objective markers. These things look awesome. Ordering a set is a good way to support one of our sponsors AND the show. Find them here.

Reggie tells us about the Crucible.  The tournament is coming up next month in Orlando.  This is a can’t miss event for a lot of people.  Please consider putting it on your schedule.    It’s the 3rd event in the Armageddon Series.  Many awesome prizes will be awarded and you get to play against some of the best 40k players in the world.

The Wrong Way Kids will be putting on their first official public event later this year the
