FTN Episode 323 – Playing Behind the 8 Ball

Description

FTN small square

Ricky and Adam join me this week to talk about playing at a disadvantage.  If you aren’t a meta chaser sometimes you’ve got to just play the best tools in your shed.  What happens when you roll up to the table against someone with a better trick?   We don’t solve the problem but we sure do talk about it for a little while.  We have two amazing Community Spotlight segments in this show too.

Hi guys,

We start the show talking about playing at a disadvantage.  You brought a trick – either shooting or assault and you get paired or choose to play someone with them same trick as you but they do it better!  We chat a bit about how to realize and compensate for that.  This is a topic we will dive deeper into over the next couple of episodes.

The first community spotlight shines a light on BattleHaven.  If you haven’t check them out yet please do.  You can find more information here.  These guys put on a fabulous event celebrating the gaming culture and spirit of friendship.  Great people doing great things – it is absolutely worth the trip.

Please please please check out the new Forge The Narrative objective markers. These things look awesome. Ordering a set is a good way to support one of our sponsors AND the show. Find them here.

After that we jump back in with Adam and Ricky to stay on topic.  Of course we can’t stay on topic without several blatant Lord of the Rings references because… why not?

The second Community Spotlight is with Pablo Martinez from Chapter Tactics over on the FLG network.  We talk about gaming in general and what it’s like to interact at events and as an organizer.

We’re delighted to continue to represent Discount Games Inc as sponsor of our show. They are helping bring FTN to you. Please check them out and support the organizations that support us. Discount Games Inc. offers Games Workshop products at 15% off the suggested retail at their website here. You can send an email to the owner
