FTN small square

Exciting news from Wizards of the Coast and Games Workshop this week with the announcement of Warhammer 40k IP is coming to the Magic the Gathering format.  Wow.  I guess I always wanted this and never knew it.  I’m prepared to tippity tap my way to your face – and ears on this podcast.

Hey folks,

It is pretty strange when two giants of intellectual property and fandoms come together like this.  I wasn’t sure how I felt at first.  The purist in me clutched my pearls, as it were, but the more I thought about the more I was interested.

The idea of having a complete 40k based Magic experience seems pretty cool to me.  I plan to buy it and I hope it’s supported in a way that gives it some life in the form of being able to break this out every now and then to play with my friends or kids for years to come.

I don’t mind saying that I hope it keeps the same land/color mechanic so I can use 40k lands in my Magic decks.  I don’t play very frequently at all but when I do… I’d like to tap the Emperor’s Palace to cast Ravages of War.

We ooh and ahh over the Cursed City figures a bit more later in the show.

After that we go into full speculation mode about the Drukari and what we hope they bring to the table.  Adam goes deep in the tank theory crafting what a glass cannon in 9th will look like.  Red is a long time DE player and has some thoughts as well.

We’re delighted to continue to represent Discount Games Inc as sponsor of our show. They are helping bring FTN to you. Please check them out and support the organizations that support us.
