כאשר שמעו בנ"י בר"ח ניסן את "בשורת הגאולה" ממשה רבינו, היו כ"כ בטוחים בקיום הדבר, ולכן כבר אז, כאשר עוד היו במצרים תחת ממשלת פרעה וכו', הי' זה עבורם כאילו קויים הדבר בפועל! עד שכבר בר"ח ניסן נק' החודש‏ – ‏חודש הגאולה! ועד"ז בנוגע הגאולה האמיתית והשלימה. ולכן, אפי' יהודי שיודע שנמצאים בגלות חושך כפול ומכופל ניתן לתבוע ממנו שירגיש שמחה אמיתית מזה שנמצא ב"חודש הגאולה", כי עיקר ענין גלות וגאולה תלוי ברגש האדם ויכול להרגיש בחירות גם בגלות. יהודי שיודע ש"פרעה" אינו אלא "גרזן ביד החוצב בו"‏ – ‏ה' הכניס אותו לגלות כדי לנסותו וכו', ובידו להגאל מיד ע"י "בקולו תשמעו" ו"מיד הן נגאלין"‏ – ‏הנה עבורו אי"ז גלות אמיתי! ועוד: כיון ש"הנשמה מעולם לא הלכה לגלות", הרי אם הנשמה אצלו היא העיקר ה"ה מלכתחילה במצב של חירות!

When a Jew knows that Pharaoh is merely “the axe in the hand of the woodchopper” – and that Hashem put him into exile in order to test him etc., and that it is within his power, by “listening to My voice,” to be immediately redeemed” – for him, it is not a true exile. Moreover: since “the soul never went into exile,” if one makes his soul primary and his body secondary – he is in a state of freedom in the first place.
