A 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck off the east coast of Taiwan on Wednesday, leaving at least 9 people dead and 800 injured, local authorities confirmed. The quake is the largest to hit the country in 25 years.

Heavy traffic paralyzes several points of the city and its surroundings due to protests and closures carried out by the Sindicato Único Nacional de Trabajadores de la Industria de la Construcción y Similares (Suntracs) during the morning of Wednesday, April 3.

Peru's interim national prosecutor, Juan Carlos Villena, said Tuesday that President-designate Dina Boluarte is not only being investigated over the scandal of the Rolex luxury watches, but that the investigation has been extended to an increase in her assets of alleged illicit origin.
