Heat Geek Ollie is back on Off The Job, and this time, the questions are coming from you!

In this special live Q&A episode of Off The Job Overtime, hosts Keiran Yates and Pete Withers welcome back gas and heating engineer Ollie Gilcreest, better known as Heat Geek Ollie, for an entertaining conversation about boiler repairs, heat pumps, apprenticeships and the realities of working in the UK plumbing and heating industry.

With questions coming directly from viewers, the lads get stuck into everything from choosing the right boiler manufacturer and deciding whether an ageing boiler is worth repairing to the growing interest in air source heat pumps and hybrid heating systems.

There's plenty of business talk too, including the realities of manufacturer warranties, buying or leasing work vans, dealing with tool theft and whether taking on an apprentice is worth the headaches.

Ollie also shares more about his experience as a boiler breakdown engineer, how he built his fault-finding workload and what he's learnt from working with other engineers across the industry.

Naturally, the conversation doesn't stay technical for long. Expect questionable apprentice stories, plumbing disasters, plenty of trade banter and the usual disagreements between Keiran and Pete.

IN THIS EPISODE:

• Air source heat pumps, oil boilers and hybrid heating systems.
• Which boiler manufacturers do engineers actually prefer?
• Repairing older boilers versus recommending replacements.
• Boiler servicing, warranties and subcontractor payments.
• Buying, leasing and securing work vans.
• Taking on apprentices and the challenges of training.
• Boiler breakdowns, fault finding and building a heating business.
• Engineer incentives, work efficiency and van stock.
• Plumbing disasters and stories from the tools.

Whether you're a Gas Safe registered engineer, plumber, heating engineer or apprentice, there's plenty to get stuck into.
