בפ' שמיני מדובר אודות החידוש שהי' ביום השמיני למילואים ש"וירא כבוד ה' אל כל העם" – כל בני ישראל, כולל הקטני-קטנים, ראו אלקות בעיני בשר, עי"ז ש"ותרד אש מן השמים". וההוראה: התכלית של הקמת המשכן היתה – "ושכנתי בתוכם – בתוך כאו"א מישראל", שע"י שכ"א משמש את קונו ובביתו רואים יהדות בעיני בשר, הנה עי"ז נעשה ביתו משכן ודירה לו ית' ורואים בו אלקות בעיני בשר! ולא רק יחידי סגולה, אלא, כאמור, כל אחד ואחת מישראל! והיום, לאחרי מ"ת, לא צריכים ההכנה של "שבעת ימים", אלא בכל רגע ורגע ביכולת כ"א להיות במעמד ומצב שבנ"י היו "ביום השמיני", ורואה את "הקב"ה עוזרו" בכל צעד ושעל. ועושים זאת מתוך שמחה – "וירא העם וירונו – ושבחו"!

Parashas Shemini discusses the novelty of the eighth day of the milu’im (investiture) – that “The glory of Hashem appeared to the all the people” – the entire Jewish people, including the smallest among them, saw G-dliness with their physical eyes when “fire came down from heaven.” The lesson is: the purpose of building the Mishkan is that “I will dwell among them – within each and every Jew”; by every Jew serving his Creator keeping Yiddishkeit in his home such that Yiddishkeit is visible to the physical eye, his home becomes a Mishkan and dwelling for Hashem, where G-dliness can be seen with the physical eye. And this applies not only to select individuals, but to every single Jew. And today, after the giving of the Torah, there is no need for seven days of preparation; rather, at every moment, every Jew can attain the state the Jewish people were on “on the eighth day,” and see “the Holy One, blessed be He assisting him” at every step. And this is done with joy – “…and the people saw and exulted…” – “they sang praises”!
