Now it is Friday of the Passion Week, the day Jesus would be crucified and then buried. After multiple trials, Jesus went through severe scourging. The Roman soldiers were experts in this horrific experience and knew how close they could take the human body before death occurred. We do not know the specifics about Jesus' scourging, but the standard practice left the body somewhat mutilated, bruised, and gushing with blood. Then, they covered Jesus' body with a robe and plunged a crown of thorns into His head. Then, He was led away to be crucified.
