Be Our Refuge, Oh God!

Season 2 Episode 43

Send us a text

“Be to me a rock of refuge, a strong fortress, to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress. Rescue me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of the unjust and cruel. For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O LORD, from my youth.” -Psalm 71:3-5

On this second day of Holy Week, we acknowledge that the world is not as it should be. Evil and injustice are widespread and pervasive.

Our prayer and our commitment is that we not give in to it. We will not give into our fears of being left out or left behind. We will not give in to out greed or lusts. We will not be driven by our resentments and hurts.

We place our trust in God. We commit our footsteps to the way of love that Jesus taught and modeled for us. We will be just in our dealings, faithful in our commitments, and relentless in our care and compassion for others.

We place our trust in God to bring us to refuge, to be our refuge- regardless of what is going on around us.
