Season 2 Episode 45
“For there is hope for a tree, if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its shoots will not cease. Though its root grows old in the earth, and its stump dies in the ground, yet at the scent of water it will bud and put forth branches like a young plant.” Job 14:7-9
Over and over again, during Holy Week we are reminded that adversity, hardship, and struggle are part of the human condition. Over and over again we are reminded that the light of hope will always chase the darkness away.
Even if our leaves are gone. Even if our branches are gone. Even if our trunk is gone. Even if our stump is damaged- we have deep roots. Our roots are still alive. And they need just a little water in order for new growth to begin again.
Let us be that water for each other. Let’s give each other love and encouragement. Let’s give each other the gift of presence, and be available for each other physically, emotionally, intellectually, spiritually, financially. We will thrive again.
