EP 129: The Truth About Slip-Ups & Set-Backs in Recovery & What to Do When You Feel Like Giving Up

Published 2 years, 3 months ago
Description

It's that time of the week girl!

I'm jumping in to your inbox today to check-in on you my sweet friend.

How are you?

No, how are you really?!

~

If you struggle with disordered eating, slip-ups & set-backs happen....well as sucky as they are (making you want to throw in the towel), it's time to start expecting them. Prepare for the slip-ups!

Change is hard. Growth is hard. Slip-ups & set-backs are just proof you are doing hard things. NOT proof that you are failing at the things.

In my recovery journey I wanted so badly to DO recovery "right". On days where I fell back to old patterns & behaviors, I felt like it was just "too hard". I felt like I was just never going to get to freedom. That maybe it just wasn't in the cards for me.

Reality is....THAT way of thinking is a LIE. A false narrative. STOP believing it!

That lie is a trap your mind wants you to believe to keep you chained to the disorder.

Discouragement + Doubt = Quitting

You aren't a quitter! You aren't a giver-upper either!

So when slip-ups & set-backs come your way....use them as a SET-UP as you step into the BEST version of yourself.

You totes got this!

& I got you sister.

hugs,

lindsey
