The events accelerated exponentially on Thursday of the Passion Week, before Jesus would be crucified on Friday. Rising from the meal, Jesus washed the feet of the twelve disciples, giving them a new commandment to love one another.
As The Last Supper Passover meal was occurring, Jesus also gave new meaning to the bread and the wine. As the sacrificial lamb of God who would soon die for the sins of the world, Jesus said the bread represents His body which would be given for all; and the wine represents His blood of the covenant, which He is pouring out for the forgiveness of all sin.
