Description
Fonterra’s plan to reduce its Scope 3 emissions – those from its farmers – is an ambitious one. The co-op is targeting a 30% reduction in emissions efficiency by 2030. Director of sustainability Charlotte Rutherford joins Bryan to outline the plan and the reasons behind it. She says access to capital, customer demands and avoiding exposure to legal action are the key drivers.

Then Federated Farmers has a plan to resolve contract disputes in the arable sector. Arable chair David Burkett shares why there’s a need for it and how it will work.

And senior reporter Neal Wallace unpacks the latest news stories he’s been following this week, including a big drop in the amount of fertiliser applied in the past year and the government’s announcement it’s putting the brakes on implementation of the Significant Natural Areas legislation.
