1) בקביעות שנה זו חל הצום ד"תענית אסתר" בי"א אדר. תאריך זה מיוחד עפ"י דברי המשנה "מגילה נקראת בי"א בי"ב .. בט"ו" – תאריך הראשון דקריאת המגילה עפ"י תקנת בני הכפרים. שבזה שדואגים גם ליהודי הגר ב"כפר נדח" מודגש כללות הענין דאהבת ישראל, שזהו תוכן הענין דחג הפורים בכלל – "משלוח מנות" ו"מתנות לאביונים". 2) בקביעות כזו, שישנם ג' ימים מ"תענית אסתר" עד פורים, ישנו יותר זמן להדר בההכנות דימי הפורים. ו"המעשה הוא העיקר", ו"אין מזרזין אלא למזורזין", בנוגע למבצע פורים בכל מדינה ומדינה, ולשמח את אלו הצריכים את זה במיוחד כמו אלו הנמצאים בבת ירפואה, מושבי זקנים ובתי יתומים וכו'.

(1) Taanis Esther this year falls out on the 11th of Adar, a date distinguished as the first day eligible for the reading of the Megillah – as the Sages enacted in order to cater to the needs of the villagers. Our concern that the villagers in remote places have the ability to hear the Megillah reading further emphasizes how central Ahavas Yisroel is to Purim, as also emphasized in the mitzvos of Mishloach Manos and Matanos L’evyonim. (2) On a year like this, when there are three days from Taanis Esther to Purim, there is more time to prepare b’hidur for the days of Purim. “Action is the main thing,” and “One urges only those who are vigilant” – with regards to Mivtza Purim in every country, and bringing joy to those in particular need of it, such as those in hospitals, nursing homes, orphanages, etc.
