OP's wife checked out of the marriage after OP had an accident. When OP noticed she wasn't engaging with him anymore, he took action. He went to a lawyer and drafted divorce papers. After he got his ducks in a row, he left the divorce papers in his room and left. It took his wife over a week to find the papers.
