Episode 110
Over the past few decades, America has been grappling with a health crisis driven by rising rates of diabetes and obesity. Numerous studies have linked these issues to the excessive consumption of sugar, particularly in the form of sugar-sweetened beverages such as soda, fruit juices, sports drinks, and iced teas. In an effort to combat this pressing concern, a number of drastic measures have been proposed, one of which is the implementation of a soda tax. This tax targets beverages that are sweetened with sugar, and in some cities, even those with added sweeteners.
