From earning £40 a day as a plumbing apprentice to becoming a Fix Radio presenter, Todd Glister's career has taken a few unexpected turns!

In the Season 1 finale of Off The Job: A Tradesman Podcast, hosts Keiran Yates and Pete Withers are joined by plumber, heating engineer, business owner and Fix Radio personality Todd Glister for a conversation about life on the tools, self-employment, social media and finding a balance between work and actually having a life.

Todd takes us back to his early days working on housing refurbishments, learning the trade from experienced plumbers and eventually deciding to go self-employed. He shares the challenges of building Glister Services, dealing with customers and discovering that running your own plumbing business involves far more than knowing how to fit a boiler.

The lads also get into Todd's journey on social media, from sharing everyday plumbing jobs and entertaining Instagram followers with his magic tricks to meeting Andy Cam and joining him on The Heating & Plumbing Show on Fix Radio.

There's plenty of trade banter along the way, including customer complaints, plumbing disasters, awkward jobs and the familiar arguments between different trades.

Todd also shares a more serious experience from his career, explaining how working seven days a week eventually left him exhausted and forced him to reconsider what success really meant.
