[המשך] כוונת הדיבורים אינה שהמלמד צ"ל יר"ש – מאי קמ"ל?!, אלא שהתלמיד צריך להרגיש שה"קמץ א' אָ" שלומד, זהו אותו "קמץ א' אָ" של "אנכי ה"א וגו'! ובמילא, יודע המלמד, שב"אל"ף" זה נכלל, ונוטע בילד, כל התורה כולה! ואם המלמד טוען שבזמנו לא ראה שישימו בישיבה את הדגש על יר"ש – הרי בזמנו היו בבחי' "בריאים", משא"כ בזמננו ר"ל, הנה כל ר"י או ר"מ וכיו"ב ה"ה בבחי' "רופא נשמות עמו ישראל"! ואסור לתת לילד בגיל 15-18 שנה לתעות לבד בחושך של זמננו! וראשית הכל יש להעמידו בקרן אורה שידע שהוא בנו של הקב"ה שמסתכל על הנהגתו! ולכן לומד אתו גם תורה. ולימוד התורה הוא כדי שיהי' "כופר בעבודה זרה" (ועש"ז נק' "יהודים", כמ"ש במגילה). וענין זה צריך המדריך להחדיר לילד כבר בגיל קטן כאשר רק הולך ל"גן" ומשחק ולומד א"ב – שיסוד הכל הוא "אנכי ה' אלקיך"! ועאכו"כ כאשר הילד מתבגר ונהי' בר/בת מצוה וכו'. וזהו הלימוד מימי הפורים – מרדכי, ראש הסנהדרין, התעסק בעצמו בזה! וזה ביטל ומבטל את כל הגזירות.

משיחת פורים ה'תשל"ה

The point is not that the teacher must be a Yerei Shamayim – that much is obvious. Rather, the point is that the student must get the sense that the kamatz-alef-uh he learns is the kamatz-alef-uh of Anochi Hashem Elokecha, which includes the entire Torah, and thus the teacher instills the entire Torah in the child. And if the teacher argues that back in his day, there was no such emphasis in yeshiva on instilling Yiras Shamayim – back then, people were “healthy,” but these days, Rachmana litzlan, every teacher and educator is considered a “healer of the souls of the Jewish people”! One cannot leave a child to wander alone in the darkness! The first thing is to put him in a place of light, to know that he is a child of Hashem, Who watches over him and examines his conduct. This is the purpose of teaching him Torah; the Torah study is necessary to ensure he will “repudiate idolatry” (which is quality for which we are called “Yehudim,” as the Gemara says in Megillah). And the educator must instill this in the child already at a young age, when the child goes to play in kindergarten and learns the Alef-Beis – that the foundation of everything is Anochi Hashem Elokecha. And all the more so when the child becomes Bar/Bas Mitzvah etc. This is the lesson from the days of Purim – that Mordechai, the head of the Sanhedrin, personally involved himself in this – and this is what nullified and will nullify all decrees.
