In 2020 a man called Jon Andrewes, who was a former builder, told staggering lies on his CV to become a top NHS boss for some 12 years. Contrary to our beliefs that little white lies are unnoticeable on CVs, it is a face that some lies on a CV can count as ‘CV fraud’, a crime punishable with large fines, and even a prison sentence.
