On this week's program, host Phil Tower talks with Andy McIntyre, the Chief Operating Officer of John Ball Zoo. Andy joined the show for an update to talk about everything going on at the zoo including, most recently, the Grand Rapids Lantern Festival underway now through June 11. John Ball Zoo is the first and only place you can see these incredible works of art in Michigan. Andy also spoke about zoo memberships and Sprouts, John Ball Zoo’s preschool program, which gives children an opportunity to explore the Zoo, meet animals, and engage in nature-based play and learning.Online: jbzoo.org

Michael joined us to discuss his most recent work, a timely and profound book, titled, ON CONSOLATION: Finding Solace in Dark Times, published by Metropolitan Books. Michael Ignatieff also writes regularly for the New York Times, and the New York Review of Books. He was also the former head of Canada’s Liberal Party, director of the Carr Center for Human Rights at Harvard’s Kennedy School, and president of Central European University, he is currently a professor at CEU in Vienna.
