Description
On this week's program host Phil Tower welcomes back Dr. Adam London, Administrative Health Officer at the Kent County Health Department. Adam joined us to speak about several public health issues of importance, including reports of a new Covid variant recently discovered in Michigan. We learned that the CDC was tracking the variant, BA.2.86, after the University of Michigan lab detected a case in mid-August. We also spoke with Dr. Adam London about the Kent County Health Department’s Getting Ahead of Lead initiative. Additionally, we discussed a genuine concern about the dropping percentage of vaccinated children in schools, and what parents should know about school vaccinations. Dr.London also said that his team is seeing increased numbers of cases of both West Nile disease and Lyme disease.
