Dégagé serves over 1000 unique individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty in Grand Rapids. Ensink recently signed an urgent letter to the West Michigan community stating that they will not have enough beds, supplies, staff, and funding to meet the needs of people experiencing homelessness in Grand Rapids this winter. Dégagé is the only emergency shelter for women in Grand Rapids and is now seeing up to 125 women a night in shelters, many experiencing homelessness for the first time.
