Open Hearts, Open Doors - Luke 10:38-42 - Brent Van Sickle - Kingdom Partnership
Description
"We're just so busy all the time."
"My home is my refuge--my personal space."
"It would cost too much money."
"Our house just isn't big enough/nice enough/clean enough."
"It's too awkward to talk about Jesus with them."
You've likely used at least one of these excuses before to avoid having to invite friends, neighbors, or coworkers into your home. Afterall, extending hospitality to people does take time, can cost money, and might make you feel really vulnerable. But we are called to show love to others and to follow the example of the one who was the greatest ever example of hospitality. Listen as we continue this teaching series on how to invest in and expand God's Kingdom.

Luke 10:38-42
Martha and Mary
38 Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me." 41 But the Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, 42 but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her."
